What Are Success Principles?

There are as many Success Principles as there are people on the planet. Our Genies behind the scenes have consolidated the most pertinent & easy to use success tips here for you.

What is Success?

Webster's Dictionary defines success as:
1. the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors.
2. the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.
3. a successful performance or achievement.

Renowned author and physician Deepak Chopra defines success as the continued expansion of happiness and the progressive realization of worthy goals. Success is the ability to fulfill your desires with effortless ease.

There are many aspects to success. Material wealth is only one component. Success is a journey, not a destination. Material abundance, in all its expressions, happens to be one of those things that make the journey more enjoyable. But success also includes good health, energy and enthusiasm for life, fulfilling relationships, creative freedom, emotional and psychological stability, a sense of well-being and peace of mind.

Ultimately, each person defines success for themselves. What's your definition of success?

How will you know when you've achieved it?

What are the Principles of Success?

There are many principles to success. They range from very spiritual to very nuts & bolts. All of them are valuable. Notice which ones you already embrace and be open to stretching your mind to explore some of the others.

Success Principle #1: Take 100% responsibility for everything that happens in your life.

This concept can be a tough one to swallow. Take responsibility for everything that happens, even the bad stuff? Yes, even the bad stuff--even the stuff that doesn't seem like your fault. How on earth could that be a key to success?

We are powerful beings. We don’t often realize exactly what our energy and thoughts are, much less what they create. You may want to consider thoughts as actual things that you’re placing in the world around you. These are the most powerful things in the universe.

Ideal thoughts create ideal situations. Less than ideal thoughts create less than ideal situations. When your life goes sideways, it gives us an opportunity to notice how our thoughts and actions can improve. You’re then at choice as to whether or not you'd like dig deep, understand ourselves more completely & change our thoughts or not.

From this day forward, challenge yourself to take full responsibility for your entire life. Try it out and notice what happens.

Uncle George Naope, a great kahuna of Hawaii has been known to go as far with this success principle as to say “Take responsibility for everything that happens in your life. Everything good and everything bad, as if you created it.” When you take responsibility in this manner, all of your life’s events become opportunities for feedback & improvement on the deepest of levels.

Success Principle #2. Adopt the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success into your life.

In his book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra says that once we learn our true nature and learn to live in harmony with natural law, a sense of well-being, good health, fulfilling relationships, energy & enthusiasm for life, material abundance will spring forth easily and effortlessly.

Success Principle #3: Have an Action Plan

Which side of the spectrum are you on?

For maximum results, you may want to consider combining the best of both philosophies. To start, focus on the big picture of your life. Where do you want to be in 1, 5, 10 or 20 years? How much money do you want to have in the bank? What kinds of memories do you want to look back on when you're 95?

b>Success Principle #4: Know How You're Motivated

The dictionary defines motivation as:

Stimulated toward action, provided with an incentive; moved to action; impelled

When going for any goal, it's important to realize how you're motivated. Why do you want what you want?

When you're moving towards something that you deeply want for positive reasons, you're more likely to get it. When you're working towards a goal because someone else told you that you should, you think you have to (but don't feel excited about it) or simply don't want the alternative it's likely you will get different results than what you're aiming for. Your energy won't allow you to attract the situations & things you need to success. Your drive will be lackluster at best.

The ideal state to achieve your goals is to be motivated from deep inside. When this happens, you'll be driven & excited to wake up every day. You'll enjoy the adventure on the way to your own success.

So just ask yourself, why do you want what you want? Pay close attention to how you feel when you write or say the goal. Does it pump you up or something less?

If you don't really want it deep inside, change direction and go for something you really do want!

Success Principle #5. Allow & Expect Miracles

Oprah Winfrey says that she could have never planned anything close to the level of success she's achieved. She's one of the most influential people in the world and the head of her own multi-million dollar media empire. Did she achieve all of that without planning? Certainly not. But she did stay open to possibility when opportunities came her way. And as a matter of fact, many of her 'failures' led to getting her own talk show! She may be the ultimate example of turning lemons into lemonade. Oprah, like so many other wildly successful people, is skilled in the art of allowing. Seems simple, right? Just go with the flow and be open to possibility. Unfortunately, we're not conditioned to create our lives with this kind of gentleness. It's easy to just have one idea and know exactly how it needs to be accomplished and all of the steps along the way. It's also easy to be closed to ideas, events & people that come your way because they don't seem like they support your goals.

You've probably heard the phrase, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans."

Allowing and being open to possibility will let you achieve something much greater than you ever could have thought.

Application can be challenging if you're not used to it. Are your curious about exactly how good you are at allowing and attracting what you want? You may already know based on how your life is going...but when you're ready for some specific pointers, be sure to take a quiz. One of the keys is to learn to treat obstacles differently than you have been. Obstacles don't mean to stop what you're doing.

Instead, they are a sign that you're on the way to where you want to go, you've just got to get more creative! The people, situations and things you need to succeed are hidden in the invisible fibers of the universe. The challenges you face and resulting creativity are just the nudges you need to find what you really need.

When you're open to allowing, expect miracles! Seemingly strange coincidences will occur in which you'll be in the right place in the right time to get exactly what you need to help you attain your goal.
